In 1962 Delaunay showed fourty-three of her gouaches dating from between 1947 and 1962 at the Galerie Denise René. Published for the occasion was 'Sonia Delaunay, Poésie de mots, Poésie de couleurs' that brought together poems by Rimbaud, Cendrars, Delteil, Soupault, Tzara and Mallarmé To compliment this work Delaunay produced a series of six pochoirs (screen prints) inspired by each poet.
